Headquartered in the Hsinchu Science Park in northern Taiwan, Edge-Core Networks Corporation was spun-off in 2010 into an independent subsidiary responsible for global branded business from the Accton Technology Group. The company offers two brands, Edge-Core Networks and SMC Networks (http://www.smc.com); the former targets enterprises and large carriers and service providers, while the latter targets the SOHO, SMB, and MSO market segments. Acquired by the Accton Technology Group in 1997, SMC is one of the industry’s foremost technology pioneers, with more than 40 years of experience.
